Children love to play hide and seek. With this activity, children have to find visual hiding places and take photos of hidden persons, as well as observe photos intently to find hidden friends.

Description of the activity (step by step)
Preparation:
The goal of the activity is to take photos with a single (or several) hidden persons. The person has to be visible a little bit to enable the viewer to find her or him but obscured enough to make the task difficult. Explain the purpose of the activity and head out to the playground.
Implementation:
Distribute cameras to pairs or small groups and let the children search freely for hiding places. They can take as many pictures as they like and try out different distances to the object, different perspectives, etc. Make sure that all children who like get the opportunity to both hide and take photos.
Reflection:
Once you get back, upload the photos and look through the photos of each pair (group). Let the children who participated in the shot select a couple of pictures of different hiding places.
Each pair (group) can then present the photos to other children with the challenge to find the persons in the photo and maybe even guess who this person is.
You can talk about what makes something more difficult to find – a green T-shirt behind a bush compared with a red T-shirt, a lot of patterns compared with straight lines, etc.
Variations and additional ideas
Children can also hide objects and photograph them. Sometimes, the objects do not even have to be obscured to be difficult to find, for example, if they are placed in front of a similar color or in an unusual place.
