  • Group size:
    Group
  • Duration:
    30–45 min

Goal

It brings parents together, creates nonformal learning situations and gives parents ideas how to use technology in a playful and inspiring way. Parents are hopefully having a good time with their kids and may take home some new insights around media education.

Steps

1

Create a set of quiz questions and tasks around a chosen topic linked to media education.

2

Questions or tasks can be linked with a QR Code that you print out and spread in the area of the rally.

3

You could for example create an outdoor rally involving questions around nature and involving technology, possible tasks:

  • Find a tree in this area, take a picture and write down the name.
  • Which animal lives on the tree, make a short video.
  • Which animal is important for dusting flowers? (link a video which shows bees at work).
  • How many bees live in a stock — write down your guess.
4

Test the rally with your colleagues.

5

After the rally you can open a conversation with kids and parents about their experience, what did work out well?
