    5–30 min
  • Materials:
    • Flipchart

Goal

Invite parents to this interactive method and give their perspective. Gain insights about their opinion, media habits, knowledge etc.

Steps

1

Prepare one or several questions and write them on a big flipchart or poster.

2

Link the questions to the topic you want to discuss with parents and use the flipchart as an interactive introduction.

3

Questions could be:

  • Finish the sentence: "Smartphones are…" or "Digital media in the family is…"
  • Prepare a table with +/− smartphone or digital media (parents can fill out Chances and Challenges)
  • Hang some children photos — Which photos would you share online? Which ones would you only share with family? Which photos are private?
  • On a scale from none to 5h — how much time do you spend online every day (stick a small sticker to your time or mark it with a pen)
4

You can look at the answers together with the parents or have a look and mention some perspectives and open up a discussion.
